I'm giving away Amy! (Closed)

THIS GIVE AWAY IS NOW CLOSED. Thank you to all who entered! One blessed winner gets to bring home Amy Grant's Rock of Ages. I love my copy and I guess I liked it so much I picked up a second copy - hmmmm - who knows! (THE FINE PRINT: The jewel case has a crack in it but otherwise it's new and still in its plastic wrap.)

Short and sweet - 'cause for those of you going through the list of 1300+ giveaways at Bloggy Giveaway you're probably a little cross-eyed.

Leave me a comment - tell me if your dishes are done or not. Currently my husband is doing the dishes. Neener neener neener!

I'll do the drawing between Saturday night and Sunday night. I'll ship to the US and Canada (cross my fingers that it doesn't break the bank).

Hey, don't forget to stretch your arms a bit and focus your eyes on something across the room. I'm sure there are more give-aways being added by the minute and you don't want to go permanently numb or blind, cause of course that could make future blogging difficult.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bloggy Loot

I actually did win some loot from the last bloggy giveaway I'm just super late in posting about it. Then again I guess we've had a few things going on. :)

From Heart of the Matter I won a great book named Let's Get Ready For First Grade and then she threw in another book that was like-new just for Kindergarteners. I thought they looked like fun stuff to go over with Agent H but then when I received them I really really liked them! They are wipe clean books that cover so much information to review with your kids:

- skipping numbers and counting
- left/right hand
- phone number practice
- calendar/time

These would be great books to go through at home or when we're stuck waiting someplace!

How great that I also won a gift certificate to an Etsy shop called PB&J Celebrations . I got to pick out one of her photo card options, send her LE's picture, and she sent us back a PDF to get printed wherever we like (she will also print and mail them to you). She was very fast and easy to work with! So as soon as we get around to ordering the pictures . . . . we'll be sending out LE's beautiful birth announcement. Just lovely!

Thanks ladies!

The great giveaway is back

Feel like trying to win some stuff? Head on over to the Great Bloggy Giveaway where there are just about a thousand nice bloggers lining up to give you the chance to win cool stuff. In the past I have won some great stuff from this contest. Sometimes I just find great leads to things.

In last Spring's contest I found out about a great CD by Phil Joel called Deliberate Kids. The lyrics are scripture based or just sweet and placed to a grooving, very enjoyable beat! I ended up buying it on iTunes!

This time around I discovered that Natural Value makes plastic kitchen freezer bags made without PVC and plasticizer. While plastic bags may not be very "green", they are really useful for freezer cooking and baking.

My fingers are crossed to win a DYMO label maker, this teething necklace by Smart Mom and a nursing cover.

What I Won: 2

I also won (see below) The Dangerous Book for Boys from Frantically Simple! We've given this book away as a gift and I've thought I would love to own it as well. Agent H loves to study the naval flags and tell everyone about the naked pirate flag - ah yah, I'll just leave it at that then. . .

Heidi from Frantically Simple also mailed us some seed packets so we'll be planting a sunflower/hollyhock fort out back. It was fun to read Heidi's posts as we have a few things in common. For one thing, we both have fond memories of dirt hole forts. One summer my neighborhood buddies and I dug out a huge pit in a vacant lot. We carved shelves out of the walls and even scavenged old sheets of plywood to build a roof. It was cool down in the dirt and great place to lounge on hot summer days. EH has his own dirt hole fort memories - I think he even attempted a sleep over in it with his buddies.

Well thanks to Heidi for all the fun we're sure to have reading adventure stories and plotting dangerous activities!

What I Won: 1

Okay I know it's been awhile since the great Bloggy Giveaway has been done with but I never mentioned what I actually won, and I won some great stuff!

I was so very thrilled to win a copy of Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover! from The Happy Housewife. EH picked up More Than Enough a few years back after hearing Dave on the radio and was really inspired by it. I polished off TMM in 4 days and now EH is reading it. Since finishing the book I've now checked out his revised Financial Peace University and workbook from the library and am learning even more about money management.

You would think that with my dad being a financial advisor and very wise in the area of finance some of it would have rubbed off. . . he has been a great resource over the years but I've got to say that it feels like I never "took ownership" of the information. So last night EH and I signed up to do Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University online class. Feel free to take pop-shots at us as we cut up our credit cards and attempt to pay cash for groceries and what not. It should be an adventure!

Thank you to The Happy Housewife for getting us started on this journey!
